TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN

Reference Number(s): SSM48257, Date of Issue:  March 3, 2011
LAND ROVER: LR2, LR3, LR4, New Range Rover, Range Rover Sport
CATEGORY: Diagnostic Software/Hardware
SYMPTOM: 000101 Diagnostic Concerns

ISSUE

During the normal process of executing a diagnostic session using SDD, users must first input vehicle/customer symptoms before SDD can generate a list of related DTC's or Recommended diagnostic tools. While this process is robust, a bug has been discovered within DVD124 that may generate unexpected behavior if the user decides to return to the Symptom Selection tab to modify/add/remove symptoms later in the session.

CAUSE

The root cause is currently under investigation and expected to be resolved with a future software update to DVD125.

CORRECTION

Until a formal fix is released, this Symptom Selection bug can be avoided by using the following Symptom Selection process anytime previously selected symptoms need to be altered during the current diagnostic session.

  1. Manually de-select all previously selected symptoms.
  2. Re-select all currently relevant/desired symptoms.
  3. Open the "Selected Symptoms" drop down box at the upper right corner of the window to confirm all the currently required symptoms are shown. (IF NOT then repeat steps 1&2)
  4. Click "continue" at the lower portion of the Selected Symptoms tab to allow SDD to process the newly selected symptoms.
