ISSUE

Land Rover has received a number of reports for Park Aid Module replacement following attempted software downloads.

CAUSE

Interruption of the software download process can corrupt modules into an unrecoverable condition subsequently requiring module replacement

ACTION

When carrying out an existing module software update, carry out the following steps first:

Content

  1. Ensure all connections between the Symptom Driven Diagnostics and the vehicle diagnostic socket are robustly made.
  2. Do not disturb any cable or connector during the download process.
  3. Ensure a Land Rover approved Power Supply/Battery Support Unit is connected to the vehicle prior to commencing the download to ensure the correct battery voltage is maintained through the entire download process.
NOTE: If a download has failed after following the precautions above, it may be necessary to replace the module if it cannot be recovered by a second download attempt. For the initial download and any subsequent attempts, please ensure that programming an 'Existing module' is selected and only select program as new if the module requires replacement.
