CONDITION SUMMARY

Situation:  The climate control system may not be able to achieve the selected temperature, failing to meet the desired expectation.

Cause:  This may be caused by a lack of sealing between the duct behind the grill and the face of the sensor facial, leading to the In-Vehicle Temperature Sensor mis-reading temperatures.

Action:  Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction below.

NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION

  1. Remove the instrument panel center finisher (see TOPIx Workshop Manual section 412-04: Climate Control System - Control Components - In-Vehicle Temperature Sensor - steps 1-7).
  2. Install the interior temperature sensor insulator foam to the duct behind the sensor grille.

    NOTE: The interior temperature sensor insulator foam must cover the edge around the duct (√).
  3. Make sure the interior temperature sensor insulator foam is installed correctly (√) as shown.

  4. Install the instrument panel center finisher (see TOPIx Workshop Manual section 412-04: Climate Control System - Control Components - In-Vehicle Temperature Sensor - steps 7-1).
