Input Signal Diagnostic Mode

  1. Turn ignition on. Place cruise control switch in SET/COAST position and hold it. Push MAIN switch on. Ensure cruise control indicator light on instrument cluster lights.
  2. Turn SET/COAST switch off. Meet conditions listed in input signal diagnostic mode conditions chart and read diagnostic output by observing cruise control indicator light on instrument cluster. See Figure.
  3. After checking vacuum switch (item No. 3), turn vacuum switch off BEFORE checking each cancel switch. Disconnect vacuum switch connector and allow engine to idle.
  4. To exit input signal check diagnostic mode, turn MAIN switch off. If codes are present, use input signal diagnostic mode test procedures chart to test system. See Figure. If no codes are present, enter trouble code diagnostic mode.
