Trouble Code Diagnostic Mode

  1. Locate Total Diagnostic Communication Link (TDCL) under left side of instrument cluster. See Figure. Connect a jumper wire between TDCL terminals No. 3 and 4. Read diagnostic codes by observing cruise control indicator light on instrument cluster. Codes are displayed from lowest (11) to highest (41).
  2. If codes are present, use trouble code diagnostic mode test procedures chart to test system. See Figure. If no codes are present, enter input signal diagnostic mode.
  3. To exit trouble code diagnostic mode, remove jumper wire from TDCL connector. Trouble codes are cleared from ECU memory when ignition (battery power) is cut off.
