Cruise Control Systems: Operation: Notes
Depressing cruise control MAIN switch turns on the system. An indicator light on the instrument cluster comes on to indicate the operator's ability to set the desired cruising speed. To set desired speed, press the control lever downward in the SET/COAST direction and release. Press the cruise control MAIN switch again to turn off the cruise control system.
Cancel the set speed by either pressing the cruise control lever in the CANCEL direction, pressing the brake pedal or pressing the clutch pedal. If vehicle speed falls to less than 25 MPH (40 km/h), the set speed will automatically cancel. If vehicle speed falls to 10 MPH (16 km/h) less than the set speed, the set speed will also automatically cancel.
Pressing the cruise control lever in the RES/ACC (resume/accelerate) direction allows vehicle to resume the set speed before cancellation. Pressing the cruise control lever in the RES/ACC (resume/accelerate) direction and keeping it there gradually increases vehicle speed.
Pressing the cruise control lever in the SET/COAST direction and keeping it there gradually decreases vehicle speed.
