Fuel Pressure Control

When starting engine at high temperature, the ECM switches on a Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) to draw atmospheric pressure into diaphragm chamber of the fuel pressure regulator. This causes fuel pressure to increase, preventing fuel vapor lock and helping engine start-up.
