Continuity Test

Disconnect combination switch connectors. Check for continuity between specified terminals. See appropriate WIPER/WASHER SWITCH CONTINUITY  table. See Fig 1. If there is no continuity, replace switch. If there is continuity, apply battery voltage across terminals B16 and B18. Check continuity between terminals B7 and B18. If there is continuity, switch is okay. If there is no continuity, replace switch.

WIPER/WASHER SWITCH CONTINUITY

Switch Position Terminals
Wiper OFF
Mist OFF (1) B4 & B7
Mist ON (2) B7 & B18
Wiper INT
Mist OFF (1) B4 & B7; B12 & B16
Mist ON (2) B7 & B18; B12 & B16
Wiper LOW B7 & B18
Wiper HIGH
Mist OFF (1) B13 & B18
Mist ON (2) B7, B13 & B18
Washer
OFF (3)*
ON B8 & B16
(1) Lever in normal position.
(2) Pull lever toward you.
(3) No continuity between terminals B8 and B16.
