Clutch Assembly: Installation

  1. Mount disc and cover onto flywheel with clutch alignment mandrel. Align reference marks on clutch cover and flywheel. Tighten topmost bolts from 3 near knock pins first. Tighten bolts evenly and gradually, making several passes until final torque is reached. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Fig 1.
  2. With a dial indicator, check diaphragm spring tip alignment. If misalignment is greater than .020" (.5 mm), adjust diaphragm spring tips using Alignment Tool (09333-00013 ). See Fig 2.
  3. Apply molybdenum disulfide lithium-based grease to release fork and hub contact points, release fork and push rod contact point, release fork pivot point and clutch disc spline.
  4. Install release bearing assembly to fork and then install together into transmission. Install boot. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation.
