Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

  1. Drain cooling system. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor. Engine coolant temperature sensor is located on lower left corner of radiator.
  2. Place probe end of engine coolant temperature sensor in container of water. Heat water to 176°F (80°C).
  3. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between electrical terminals on engine coolant temperature sensor with water at specified temperature. Replace engine coolant temperature sensor if resistance is not 1480-1580 ohms. Reinstall engine coolant temperature sensor. Fill cooling system.
