Circuit Description

Camshaft Position (CMP) sensors (G1 and G2 signals) and CKP sensor (NE signal) consist of a signal plate and a pick-up coil. CMP sensor signal plates have one tooth each on its outer circumference, and are mounted on left and right bank camshafts. When camshafts rotate, protrusion on signal plate and air gap on pick-up coil change, causing fluctuations in the magnetic field and generating an electromotive force in the pick-up coil.

CKP sensor signal plate has 12 teeth and is mounted on crankshaft. The ECM detects standard crankshaft angle based on G1, G2 signals, and actual crankshaft angle and engine speed based on NE signals.

Code P0336 is set if there is a deviation in CKP sensor and No. 1 and No. 2 CMP sensors signal. Possible causes are:
