Continuity Test

Disconnect combination switch connectors. Check for continuity between specified terminals. See Fig 1. See appropriate WIPER/WASHER SWITCH CONTINUITY  table. If continuity is not as specified, replace combination switch.

WIPER/WASHER SWITCH CONTINUITY

Switch Position Continuity Between Terminals No.
Wiper Off
Mist Off (1) 7 & 16
Mist On (2) 7 & 17
Wiper Intermittent
Mist Off (1) 2 & 4; 7 & 16
Mist On (2) 2 & 4; 7 & 17
Wiper Low 7 & 17
Wiper High 1 & 2; 8 & 17
Washer
Off (3)*
On 2 & 11
(1) Lever in normal position.
(2) Pull lever toward you.
(3) No continuity between terminals No. 2 and 11.
