Test 1, Power Source Circuit

  1. Remove and inspect CC ECU-IG fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and check system operation. If fuse blows again, turn ignition off. Disconnect Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit (CC ECU) connector. See Figure. Install NEW fuse. Turn ignition on. Recheck fuse. If fuse is okay, replace CC ECU and recheck system operation. If fuse is blown, locate and repair short in wiring harness between CC ECU-IG fuse and CC ECU.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect CC ECU connector. See Figure. Check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 13 (Brown wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair faulty ground, or locate and repair open in Brown wire between ground and CC ECU connector.
  3. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 14 (Black/White wire). If battery voltage is not present, locate and repair open in wiring harness between ground and CC ECU connector. If battery voltage is present, replace CC ECU and retest system.
