Power Seat Switch Circuit Test

  1. Disconnect driver's power seat control switch. Check for battery voltage between ground and seat switch harness connector terminals No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 12. See Fig 1. If battery voltage is present on all circuits, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present on all circuits, repair open circuit between power seat switch and power seat ECU.
  2. Check continuity between driver's power seat control switch terminal No. 12 and chassis ground. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open ground circuit to power seat ECU and power seat control switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Test driver's power seat switch. See DRIVER'S POWER SEAT SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTING. Replace switch if necessary. If power seat switch is okay, check power seat ECU and switch harness connectors. If connectors are okay, replace power seat ECU.
