Stoplight Switch Circuit Test

NOTE: If power seat ECU senses brake pedal is being pressed, it prevents seat from being moved to memorized position.
  1. If stoplights do not operate, repair as necessary before continuing. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article. At driver's seat, remove bolts for front vertical adjuster. Lift front end of seat cushion slightly for access to power seat ECU. Remove power seat ECU, but leave wiring harness connectors attached.
  2. Measure voltage between chassis ground and power seat ECU harness connector "B", terminal No. 22 (Green/White wire). See Figure. With brake pedal depressed, battery voltage should exist. With brake pedal released, voltage should not exist. If voltage is as specified, see next test listed in SYSTEM TESTS INDEX  table. If voltage is not as specified, repair Green/White wire between power seat ECU and stoplight switch.
