Removal (LS400)

  1. Remove engine cover. Remove battery cover, air cleaner inlet and intake air connector. Remove throttle body from intake manifolds. See THROTTLE BODY . Disconnect accelerator cable. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector. Disconnect accelerator pedal position sensor and throttle motor connectors.
  2. Disconnect EVAP and ACIS vacuum switching valve connectors. Disconnect injector connectors. Disconnect noise filter connector. See Figure. Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose from union on intake manifold. Disconnect PCV hose. Disconnect EVAP and EVAP vacuum switching valve hoses. Disconnect PS air hose from intake manifold.
  3. Remove water bypass hoses from throttle body. Disconnect wire clamp from throttle body. Disconnect wire clamps from wire clamp bracket on right fuel rail. Remove bolt and disconnect engine wire protector from rear water bypass joint and right cylinder head.
  4. Remove bolts, and disconnect engine wire protector and wire clamp bracket from intake manifold. Remove bolts and EVAP pipe from intake manifold. Remove right rear and left front engine cover brackets. Remove bolts, nuts, intake manifold assembly and gaskets. Disconnect knock sensor connectors and knock sensor.
