Memory Switch Circuit Test

  1. Connect Lexus Hand-Held Tester (scan tool) to Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3). Put scan tool in ACTIVE mode. Check switch status while operating memory switch. If switch status does not change on scan tool, or scan tool is not available, go to step  3. If switch status changes on scan tool, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable for 5 minutes. Reconnect battery cable. Put scan tool in DATALIST function. Reset seat position memory. If memory status on scan tool changes from NOT AVAILABLE to AVAILABLE while setting memory, go to next test listed in SYSTEM TEST INDEX  table. If memory status does not change, replace ECU.
  3. Check memory switch. See MEMORY SWITCH CONTINUITY  table under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If switch is okay, check circuits between ECU and switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If all wiring and switch are okay, replace ECU.
