Position Sensor Test
Disconnect sensor connector. Disconnect motor connector. Connect battery positive lead to sensor terminal No. 3 and battery negative lead to sensor terminal No. 2. See Fig 1. Check voltage between sensor terminal No. 1 and ground while applying battery voltage to motor at motor terminals No. 1 and No. 2 (polarity changes motor direction). With motor operating, voltage should vary with motor position (0-8 volts). With motor disconnected, voltage should remain either zero or 8 volts, depending on motor position. Check voltage in many motor positions. Replace as necessary.
