System Operation Check

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position, with engine off. SRS is operational if AIR BAG warning light comes on and then goes out after 6-10 seconds with engine off, or goes out immediately when engine is started.
  2. If AIR BAG warning remains on, this indicates a fault in the SRS. When vehicle is moving, SRS control unit informs driver of any faults in SRS by flashing warning light for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, SRS warning light will remain on until fault is repaired and SRS control unit memory is cleared. If SRS warning light fails to illuminate when ignition is first turned on, this indicates bulb is faulty or there is a fault in the wiring circuit to the bulb.
