Light Control Switch Circuit

  1. Check headlight control (combination) switch using Lexus tester in DATA LIST MODE. If headlight switch is okay, proceed to next test listed in SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  table under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If headlight switch is not okay, check headlight switch. See AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS article. Replace switch as necessary. If switch is okay, go to next step.
  2. Check circuits for faults between headlight switch, anti-theft ECU and body ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair or replace as necessary. If circuits are okay, check anti-theft ECU pin voltages. See ANTI-THEFT ECU PIN VOLTAGE TESTS  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace components as necessary and retest system operation. If symptom is still present, proceed to next test listed in SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  table under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
