System Tests: Notes
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
NOTE:
Verify power door lock system and wireless door lock system are operating properly before trouble shooting anti-theft system. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS (DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM) and SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM)
tables. Anti-theft system will not operate properly if power door lock system or wireless door lock system are not operating properly. When anti-theft system is not operating properly, lower door windows and determine under what conditions system does not operate or malfunctions. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS (ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM) table.
