Security Indicator Circuit

  1. If not using LEXUS scan tool, go to next step. If using LEXUS scan tool, connect scan tool to data link connector No. 3. If anti-theft indicator light can be operated in ACTIVE TEST, go to next test shown in appropriate SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS table. If anti-theft indicator light does not operate in ACTIVE TEST, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect rheostat and security indicator light 8-pin connector. Connect positive battery voltage to connector terminal No. 6 (Red wire) and negative battery voltage to terminal No. 7 (White/Black wire). If security indicator comes on, go to next step. If security indicator does not come on, replace rheostat and security indicator.
  3. Check Red wire between theft deterrent ECU, rheostat and security indicator, and White/Black wire between rheostat, security indicator and ground. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, go to next test shown in appropriate SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS table.
