Diagnostic Mode
- Insert and remove key from ignition switch. Reinsert key in ignition switch and turn ignition on once within 5 seconds. Repeat turning ignition off and on 9 times within 30 seconds. System should now be in diagnostic mode with buzzer sounding. To return to normal mode, turn ignition switch off and on. For diagnostic mode check, go to next step.
- Check buzzer response when transmitter buttons are activated. See BUZZER RESPONSE table. If buzzer response is not as specified, check wireless door lock transmitter, receiver and/or wiring between door lock tuner and theft deterrent ECU.
- Press LOCK button on transmitter. Buzzer should produce a short chirp about every .5 second. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter. Buzzer should produce 2 short chirps about every .5 second. Press luggage compartment button on transmitter. Buzzer should produce a long chirp about every .5 second. If buzzer operation is as specified, system is okay. If buzzer produces a long continuous chirp, program transmitter. See RECOGNITION CODE REGISTRATION under PROGRAMMING.
If buzzer does not produce any chirp, perform following tests in order. See WIRELESS DOOR LOCK TRANSMITTER OPERATION , WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL TUNER CIRCUIT , WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL RECEIVER CIRCUIT , WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER OPERATION and WIRELESS BUZZER VOLUME & ON/OFF SWITCH OPERATION under COMPONENT TESTS.
