Although detection can be done, no buzzer sounds sometimes.

COMBINATION METER SYSTEM - DIAGNOSTICS - LS 430 article
 
The system operates with the shift lever not in R position, or does not operate with the shift lever in R position. (1)
  1. Neutral start switch circuit

 DTC P1780: PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in A-650E DIAGNOSIS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS
 
The system operates with the shift lever in P position, or does not operate with the shift lever not in P position. (2)
