  1. Install new dust cover to inboard tulip and center axle shaft. Wrap spline of outboard axle shaft with vinyl tape to prevent boots and dynamic damper from being damaged upon installation. Install boot clamps on boots and place on axle for installation. See Figure.
  2. Place beveled side of tripod axial spline toward outboard joint and align reference marks placed prior to removal. Install tripod on outboard joint shaft. Install snap ring. Pack boots and joints with grease as specified in overhaul kit prior to assembly. See BOOT GREASE SPECIFICATIONS . Align reference marks placed prior to removal. Install CV joints.
  3. Assemble boot clamps on both boots. Ensure the boots are on shaft grooves and that the boots are not stretched nor collapsed when the axle shaft is at its standard length. See AXLE SHAFT LENGTH SPECIFICATIONS . See Fig 1.
  4. Tighten boot clamps on boots. On right axle, locate damper on right axle shaft. Distance should be 19.61-19.77 in. (498.1-502.1 mm). See Fig 2. Install damper and tighten clamps.
