System Operation Check

  1. Trouble shooting of a power mirror control system complaint begins with verification of the customer problem. Perform Customer Problem Analysis Check (Power Mirror Control System). See Fig 1.
  2. Confirm problem symptom. See POWER MIRROR PROBLEM SYMPTOMS  table.
    • Without an applicable problem symptom, go to step  3.
    • With an applicable problem symptom, go to step  4.
    POWER MIRROR PROBLEM SYMPTOMS

    Symptom Suspected Area
    Power Mirror Switch Circuit Outer Mirror Switch Assembly (1), Outer Mirror Control ECU (2) Or Wiring Harness
    Power Mirror Motor Circuit Outer Rear View Mirror Assembly (3), Outer Mirror Control ECU (2) Or Wiring Harness
    Power Mirrors Do Not Turn To Memorized Direction Outer Rear View Mirror Assembly (4), Outer Mirror Control ECU (2) Or Wiring Harness
    (1) See OUTER MIRROR SWITCH CIRCUIT  under COMPONENT TESTS.
    (2) See TERMINALS OF ECU  under COMPONENT TESTS.
    (3) See OUTER MIRROR MOTOR CIRCUIT  under COMPONENT TESTS.
    (4) See OUTER MIRROR POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT (WITH MEMORY)  under COMPONENT TESTS.
  3. Perform trouble shooting according to the problem symptom.
  4. Perform appropriate adjustments, repairs or replacements.
  5. Perform a confirmation test.
