Without Hand-Held Tester

  1. Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper between terminals Tc and CG of (DLC3). See Fig 1.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON. If any DTCs are stored, ABS warning light will flash code on the combination meter. To read flashing patterns for normal and codes 11 and 21 see Fig 2.
  3. If any ABS related DTCs are returned, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
  4. If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time the lowest numbered DTC will be displayed first.
  5. If a code does not appear, inspect the diagnostic circuit or ABS warning light circuit. See TEST B  or TEST C  under SYMPTOM TESTING.
