Section 246 (Intake Air Control System): Inspection: 2AZ-FE

- INSPECTION INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER VALVE ASSY
- Check the intake manifold runner valve.
- Check that intake manifold runner valve shaft is not rickety.
NOTE: Do not adjust the screw. - Check the intake manifold runner valve operation.
- Apply battery positive and negative voltages across the terminals.
Standard:
- Check that the intake manifold runner valve opens and closes smoothly.

If the result is not as specified, replace the intake manifold runner valve assy.
NOTE: Do not apply the battery voltage to the intake manifold runner valve for more than 1 minute. - Apply battery positive and negative voltages across the terminals.
- Check the resistance.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER VALVE TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Specified Condition 4 - 5 3.0 to 10 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F) If the result is not as specified, replace the intake manifold runner valve assy.
- Check the intake manifold runner valve.
