Full Open Switch: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Vehicles equipped with a power liftgate utilize a full open switch. The full open switch is comprised of two main components, the micro-switch and plastic bracket (Figure). The full open switch and bracket assembly are located on the drive unit channel and is used to signal the power liftgate control module when the liftgate is approaching the full open position. Two wires connect the full open switch to the drive unit's main electrical connector.
The full open switch cannot be adjusted or repaired and if found to be faulty, must be replaced. Consult your Mopar parts catalog for a specific part number.
