Ignition Switch Continuity Test

Measure resistance between ignition switch connector terminals. See Fig 1. Ensure resistance is within specification. See IGNITION SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS . If switch resistance does not meet specifications, replace switch assembly.

Ohmmeter Connection Ignition Switch Position Resistance
..... Lock 10,000 Ohms Or More
2-3 Accessory Less Than 1 Ohm
2-3 On Less Than 1 Ohm
2-4 On Less Than 1 Ohm
6-7 On Less Than 1 Ohm
1-2 Start Less Than 1 Ohm
1-4 Start Less Than 1 Ohm
6-7 Start Less Than 1 Ohm
6-8 Start Less Than 1 Ohm
