Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lexus GS 430 and 2004 Lexus GS 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check fuses. (GAUGE, MPX-B and DOME fuse) 
    1. NG: Replace fuse. 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  2. Check voltage between terminals MPX+B and GND of combination meter connector. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove combination meter.
    2. Disconnect the combination meter connector.

    CHECK: 

    Measure voltage between terminals MPX+B and GND of combination meter connector.

    OK: 

    Voltage: 10 - 14 V

    1. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ). 
    2. NG: Go to Next Step. 
  3. Check for open in harness and connector between terminal GND of combination meter and body ground (See  O/D DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR  ). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 

      Check and repair harness and connector between combination meter and battery.
