Inspection Procedure

NOTE: If not using the LEXUS hand-held tester, start the inspection from step  2.
  1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3. See Figure. Check the brake pad sensor using DATA LIST. If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX (BODY NO. 3 CONTROL SYSTEM)  table. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
  2. Check the brake pad sensor. See PAD WEAR INDICATOR ASSEMBLY (LS 430) under TESTING in appropriate DISC article in BRAKES. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the brake pad sensor.
  3. Check the wiring harness and connector between the brake pad sensor and passenger side junction block (body No. 3) ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX (BODY NO. 3 CONTROL SYSTEM)  table. If the results are not good, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
