Power Steering Vane Pump: Removal

  1. Remove engine undercover.
    1. Remove the bolts, screws and engine under cover.
  2. Remove air cleaner assembly with air cleaner hose.
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner inlet.
    2. Disconnect the connectors.
    3. Remove the clamp.
    4. Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner assembly with air cleaner hose.
  3. Remove drive belt.
    1. Loosen the drive belt tension by turning the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise, and remove the drive belt.

  4. Disconnect 2 vacuum hoses.
    1. Remove the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses.
  5. Disconnect return hose.
    1. Remove the clip and disconnect the return hose.
      NOTE: Take care not to spill fluid on the drive belt.
  6. Disconnect 2 tube clamps.
  7. Disconnect pressure feed tube.
    1. Using SST, disconnect the pressure feed tube.

    2. SST 09023-12700
  8. Remove PS vane pump assembly.
    1. Remove the 2 nut, 2 bolts and PS vane pump assembly with the pressure feed tube.
  9. Remove pressure feed tube.
    1. Remove the union bolt, gasket and pressure feed tube.
