Inspection Procedure

  1. Remove the ECU-B1 fuse (20-amp) located in the engine room junction block and check the continuity of the fuse. If there is continuity, go to the next step. If there is not continuity, check for a short in all the harness and components connected to the ECU-B1 fuse. See Figure.
  2. Remove the wireless door lock ECU from the No. 1 instrument panel brace behind the lower No. 1 panel. See INSTRUMENT PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in INSTRUMENT PANEL article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Measure the voltage between terminal No. 8 (+B) of the ECU connector and ground. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If voltage is 10-14 volts, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX  table. If the voltage is not as specified, go to the next step.
  3. Check for an open in the harness and connector between terminal No. 1 (GND) of the wireless door lock ECU and body ground. See ANTI-THEFT under SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. If the results are OK, check and repair the faulty harness and connector between ECU and battery. If the results are not good, repair or replace the faulty harness or connector.
