- Turn ignition switch off and check that shift lever is at P. Turn steering wheel to straight ahead position.
- Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper between terminals Ts and CG of (DLC3). See Figure.
- Start engine and verify that VSC warning light flashes. If light does not flash, check VSC warning light circuit and Ts terminal circuit. See SYSTEM TESTING .
- If a new ECU is installed, start engine and keep vehicle stationary on a flat surface for 3 seconds or more. This should set zero point calibration of yaw rate sensor.
- Turn steering wheel either left or right to full lock position and turn back to straight ahead position. This will check steering angle sensor.
- Drive vehicle at approximately 3 MPH. Turn steering wheel either left or right 90° or more and continue until completing a 180° or more turn. Do not spin wheels. Stop vehicle and shift to P. Ensure VSC buzzer sounds for 3 seconds.
- If VSC buzzer sounds, sensor check is normal. If buzzer does not sound, check VSC buzzer circuit. See TEST H: VSC BUZZER CIRCUIT under SYSTEM TESTING.
- Do sensor check again.
- If buzzer still won't sound, there is a malfunction in VSC sensor. Check DTC. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM . If a DTC is retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
- Disconnect special tool and turn ignition switch off.
