How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
    1. GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK AND SYMPTOM CHECK (See  CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK  ) 
    1. GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE BODY MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN) 
    1. Check there is no abnormality in the communication system by inspecting the communication function of the body multiplex communication system with LEXUS hand-held tester.
      1. (ECU unconnected, communication line abnormal) Without code outputs, proceed to "A".
      2. (ECU unconnected, communication line abnormal) With code outputs, proceed to "B".
    1. B: GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHECK(See  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ) 
    1. Check a DTC and note it if a code is output.
    2. Delete the DTC.
    3. Check if the DTC will be output once again, when the problem symptom is simulated based on the noted code.
      1. When no code is output (symptom check and simulation is possible), proceed to "A".
      2. When no code is output (symptom check and simulation is impossible), proceed to "B".
    1. B: GO TO STEP   7 
    2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  5. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE(See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    1. Without an applicable symptoms table, proceed to "A".
    2. With an applicable symptoms table, proceed to "B".
    1. B: GO TO STEP   7 
    2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  6. ACCORDING TO PROBLEM SYMPTOM, PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING 
    1. PRE-CHECK (See PRE-CHECK )
      1. Inspection with LEXUS hand-held tester (ECU data monitor)
      2. Inspection with LEXUS hand-held tester (Active test)
    2. TERMINAL OF ECU (See TERMINALS OF ECU )
    3. INSPECTION (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
    1. GO TO NEXT STEP 
  7. ADJUSTMENT, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    1. GO TO NEXT STEP 
    2. END
