Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Disconnect the L16 luggage oscillator inner assy connector.
    2. Disconnect the L17 luggage oscillator outer assy connector.
    3. Measure the voltage and resistance between the wire harness side connectors and body ground.

      Standard: 

      Luggage oscillator inner:

      Luggage oscillator outer:

    NG: REPLACE OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the oscillator operates.

      Theft warning ECU:

    OK: Go to next step 

    When the smart key is brought close to the door the oscillator is turned ON and the indicator on the smart key illuminates. 

    NG: Go to step 3 

    OK: Go to next step 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT DETERRENT ECU - LUGGAGE OSCILLATOR (INNER, OUTER)) (THEFT WARNING ECU OR LUGGAGE OSCILLATOR (INNER, OUTER) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the T5 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the L16 luggage oscillator inner assy connector.
    3. Disconnect the L17 luggage oscillator outer assy connector.
    4. Measure the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      Luggage oscillator inner:

      Luggage oscillator outer:

    NG: REPLACE OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
