Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Disconnect the R28 and R41 oscillator connectors.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance between the wire harness side connectors and body ground.

      Standard: 

      Luggage oscillator inner:

      Luggage oscillator outer:

    NG: REPLACE OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the oscillator operates.

      Theft warning ECU:

    OK: 

    When the smart key is brought close to a room oscillator that is ON, the indicator on the smart key illuminates. 

    NG: Go to step 3 

    OK: Go to next step 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU - ROOM OSCILLATOR (FRONT AND REAR)) (THEFT WARNING ECU OR ROOM OSCILLATOR (FRONT AND REAR) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the T5 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the R28 room oscillator front assy connector.
    3. Disconnect the R41 room oscillator rear assy connector.
    4. Measure the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      Room oscillator front:

      Room oscillator rear:

    NG: REPLACE OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
