Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lexus LS 430. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the items below in the DATA LIST and read the displays on the hand-held tester.

      Each Door ECU:

    OK: 

    "ON" (lock switch is pressed) appears on the screen. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: Go to next step 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE - DOOR ECU) (OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE OR DOOR ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D25, F17, R12 and R15 door ECU connectors.
    2. Disconnect the F21, F22, R33 and R34 outside door handle connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      Driver side

      Passenger side

      Rear LH

    NG: REPLACE OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE 
    1. Remove the outside door handle.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the connector when the switch is operated.

      Standard:

    NG: REPLACE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE ASSY 

    OK: Go to next step 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
