Valve Body Assembly: Installation

  1. Install solenoid valves using the following steps:
    1. Install solenoid valves SL1 and SLT.
    2. Install solenoid valves SL2 and SLU.
    3. Install 4 straight pins, 2 lock plates and 2 bolts. See Fig 3.
    4. Install solenoid valves S1 and S2 with 2 bolts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    5. Install solenoid valve SR with 2 bolts.
  2. Install valve body using the following steps:
    1. Align groove of manual valve with pin of lever. See Fig 4.
    2. Install 3 new drum seal gaskets to transmission case.
    3. Install 19 bolts. See Fig 2. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect ATF temperature sensors to valve body and install temperature sensor clamps with 2 bolts. See Fig 1.
  4. Connect 7 connectors to solenoid valves.
  5. Install oil filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  6. Install oil pan. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  7. Install new gasket and drain plug. Tighten drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Lower vehicle.
  9. Fill and inspect automatic transmission fluid. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
