Diagnosis & Repair

NOTE: Using Toyota hand-held tester or scan tool, read FREEZE FRAME data. Freeze frame data records engine conditions when malfunction is detected.
NOTE: In order to minimize time wasted diagnosing DTCs P0442 or P0456, it is recommended to perform "Confirmation Readiness Test" first to verify EVAP system readiness status and confirmation of DTC. See TEST DRIVE CONFIRMATION .

For diagnosis and repair procedure with Toyota hand-held tester or Enhanced OBD II scan tool, see Fig 1-Fig 8 .

For diagnosis and repair procedure with generic OBD II scan tool, see Fig 9-Fig 17 .
