Variable Valve Lift System: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 17 other vehicles, including the 2003 Toyota Tundra, 2003 Toyota Tacoma, 2003 Toyota Sienna, 2003 Toyota Sequoia, and 2003 Toyota RAV4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Variable Valve Lift (VVL) system may also be referred to as Variable Valve Timing Lift Intelligent (VVTL-I or VVTL-i) system. This system is based on the VVT-i system. A cam changeover mechanism has been adopted in order to vary the extent of the lift of the intake and exhaust valves. As a result, it has achieved high power output during normal operation without affecting fuel economy or emission performance.
