Sliding Roof: Replacement

NOTE:
The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.
- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GUIDE RAIL COVER LH
- Using a screwdriver, pry out the rail cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GUIDE RAIL COVER RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described above for the LH side.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
- Using screwdriver, pry out the garnish.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described above for the LH side.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSY
- Using a torx® wrench (T25), remove the 4 screws.
- Pull the glass upward to remove it.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSY
- Disconnect the 4 drain hoses from the housing.
- Remove the 8 bolts and 4 brackets.
- Remove the 6 nuts and housing sub-assy.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSY
- Disconnect the sliding roof motor switch connector.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the drive gear sub-assy.
- REMOVE SLIDINGROOF SUNSHADE STOPPER
- Using a screwdriver, remove the sliding roof sunshade stopper.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE SUNSHADE TRIM SUB-ASSY
- REMOVE SUNSHADE TRIM KNOB
- ADJUST FULLY CLOSED POSITION
- Using a screwdriver, slide the drive cable of the sliding roof to align the matchmarks.

HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- INSTALL SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSY
- Install the drive gear with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
- Connect the sliding roof motor switch connector.
- Install the drive gear with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSY
- Install the housing sub-assy with the 6 nuts.
- Install the 4 brackets with the 8 bolts.
- Connect the 4 drain hoses.
- ADJUST SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSY
- Check the difference in level between the sliding roof (weatherstrip) and roof panel.
Dimension (Circumference): 0 +/- 2.0 mm (0 +/- 0.079 in.)
- Check the difference in level between the sliding roof (glass) and roof panel front end and rear end.
NOTE: The clearance should be even all around. - Check the difference in level between the sliding roof (weatherstrip) and roof panel.
- INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSY
- Using a torx® wrench T25, loosen a screw to adjust the sliding roof panel position. When the adjustment has been done, tighten the screw there.
Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)
- Reset the sliding roof drive gear (See RESET )
- Check the sliding roof operation function (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
HINT:
If the jam protection function is not activated, reset the sliding roof drive gear again.
- Using a torx® wrench T25, loosen a screw to adjust the sliding roof panel position. When the adjustment has been done, tighten the screw there.
- CHECK FOR WATER LEAKS
- Adjusting the sliding roof, check that there is no water leak.
If a leak is found, readjust the sliding roof.
