Inspection Procedure

- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
- Disconnect the cruise control main switch connector.
- Measure resistance between terminal 4 and 5 of the cruise control switch connector when cruise control main switch is operated.
Standard:
CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH TERMINAL - RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONSwitch position ResistanceΩ Neutral infin (No continuity) +/RES 210 to 270 -/SET 560 to 700 CANCEL 1,380 to 1,700 - Check continuity between terminals 4 and 5 of cruise control main switch connector when main switch button is held on and off.

Standard:
CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINAL - CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONSwitch position Tester connection Specification OFF 4-5 No continuity ON 4-5 Continuity
- NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH, BODY GROUND - ECM)
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between cruise control main switch and ECM (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between cruise control main switch and body ground (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step.
