Ignitor (GS300 & IS300)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2002 Lexus SC 430, 2002 Lexus RX 300, 2002 Lexus LX 470, 2002 Lexus LS 430, and 2002 Lexus IS 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Ignitor has a Black 10-pin connector and is located in engine compartment, on top of left strut tower. Primary circuit is turned off when Engine Control Module (ECM) delivers a signal to ignitor on IGT wire, causing ignition coil to fire spark plug. After delivering a command to turn off primary circuit on IGT wire, ECM monitors ignition confirmation signal on IGF circuit to ensure primary switching has occurred. If IGF signal is not input to ECM, ECM will stop fuel injection as a fail safe function.
