Front Axle Hub Bolt: Replacement

HINT:

• COMPONENTS (See COMPONENTS 
• Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt table (See SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH 
   1. Remove the 10 bolts and ornament.
   2. Remove the 5 nuts and front wheel.
2. DISCONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSY LH 
   1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the brake cylinder from the steering knuckle.
   2. Support the brake cylinder securely.

3. REMOVE FRONT DISC 
4. REMOVE FRONT AXLE LH HUB BOLT 
   1. Temporarily install 2 nuts to the hub bolts as shown in Fig 2 .

   2. Using SST and a brass bar or an equivalent to hold the axle shaft, remove the hub bolt.

5. INSTALL FRONT AXLE LH HUB BOLT 
   1. Temporarily install a plate washer and nut to a new hub bolt as shown in Fig 3 .

   2. Using a brass bar or an equivalent to hold the axle, install the hub bolt by torquing the nut. Then remove the nut and plate washer.
   3. Remove the 2 nuts temporarily installed in step  4.
6. INSTALL FRONT DISC 
7. CONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSY LH 
   1. Connect the brake cylinder to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 118 N.m (1,200 kgf.cm, 87 ft.lbf) 

8. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH 
   1. Install the front wheel with the 5 nuts.

      Torque: 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf) 

   2. Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.

      Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
