Horn System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSY 
    1. Check operation of the horn.

      HIGH PITCHED HORN MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) --> Horn body
      Horn sounds

      If the result is not as specified, replace the horn assy.

  2. INSPECT LOW PITCHED HORN ASSY 
    1. Check operation of the horn.

      LOW PITCHED HORN MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) --> Horn body
      Horn sounds

      If the result is not as specified, replace the horn assy.

  3. INSPECT HORN RELAY ASSY 
    1. Inspect the horn relay (Marking: HORN) resistance.

      HORN RELAY TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      3 - 5 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Apply B+ between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      If the resistance is not as specified, replace the relay.
