OBDII scan tool (excluding Hand-held Tester):

  1. CHECK VSV (FOR AICV) (See  INSPECTION  ) 

    NG: REPLACE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSY NO.3 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

  2. INSPECT ECM 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Measure the voltage between the specified terminals of the E8 and E10 ECM connectors.

      Voltage:

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

  3. INSPECT VACUUM TANK (See  INSPECTION  ) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

  4. CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSV FOR AICV - ECM, VSV FOR AICV - EFI RELAY) 
    1. Check the wire harness between the VSV for AICV connector and the ECM connector.
      1. Disconnect the V4 VSV for AICV connector.
      2. Disconnect the E10 ECM connector.
      3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard (Check for open):

        Standard (Check for short):

      4. Reconnect the VSV for AICV connector.
      5. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    2. Check the wire harness between the VSV for AICV and the EFI relay.
      1. Disconnect the V4 VSV for AICV connector.
      2. Remove the EFI relay from the engine room J/B.
      3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard (Check for open):

      4. Reconnect the VSV for AICV connector.
      5. Reinstall the EFI relay.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE ECM (See  ECM (3MZ-FE)  )
