Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE (P/W) 
    1. Remove the fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
    2. Check the resistance.

      Standard: Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TERMINAL BW) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Check the voltage between the terminal of the wire harness side connector and the body ground.

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Condition Specified Condition
      D9-7 -Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (P/W FUSE -MASTER SWITCH) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Remove the master switch.
    2. Check the resistance between the terminals of the master switch when the AUTO (driver side) switch is operated, as shown in TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION .

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. AUTO Switch Specified Condition
      1 - 9, 4 - 7 UP Below 1 Ω
      1 - 4 - 9 OFF
      1 - 4, 7 - 9 DOWN

    1. NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MASTER SWITCH - MOTOR) (MASTER SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D9 master switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the P40 motor connector.
    3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      D9-9 (DD) - P40-1 (DOWN) Below 1 Ω
      D9-4 (DU) - P40-2 (UP)
    4. Check the resistance between the D9 master switch connector and body ground.

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      D9-9 (DD) -Body ground 10 KΩ or higher
      D9-4 (DU) -Body ground

    5. Reference:

      Check operation of the power window motor (driver side).

      1. Remove the motor (See OVERHAUL ).
      2. Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.
      3. Check that the motor smoothly rotates.

      NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY LH (DRIVER SIDE)
