Draining & Refilling

  1. Remove drain plug and drain fluid. See Fig 1.
  2. Install NEW gasket and drain plug. Tighten drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. CAUTION: Do not overfill transaxle.
  4. With engine OFF, add NEW fluid through oil filler pipe up to COOL level on dipstick. See Figure. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS .
  5. Start engine and shift lever into all positions from "P" to "L" and then shift into "P" position.
  6. With engine idling, check fluid level.
  7. Add fluid up to COOL level on dipstick.
  8. Check fluid level at normal operating temperature of 158-176°F (70-80°C) and add as necessary. See Figure.
  9. Check for transmission fluid leaks. If there are leaks, repair as necessary.
